My
plan would be to augment a simple 300-mile 'round the lake' ride (per Tom)
with two and a half days' sightseeing in Chicago, followed by six days/260
miles on the Great Illinois Trail. Possible itinerary tabled below,
Tom
has already selected accommodation at his six nominated overnight
stops. It would be easy for me to do something similar for the six
overnights on the Great Illinois Trail.
Then
over to you for a sanity check!

Tom and all,
ReplyDeleteJust thought I'd round things out a bit by citing these websites.
1. Tom's route around southern Lake Michigan:

2. Grand Illinois Trail Guide

I realise my concept of a two-sector twelve-day tour, plus sightseeing in Chicago, may be more Mark Greene than Tom Evans in its design and thus not for everybody. Nonetheless, I'll keep my Ride with GPs "Collection" open to public view for the time bring at: https://ridewithgps.com/collections/3605898
